September 2015

WMGS kicked off it’s 2015-16 season with speaker Pauline Cusson.  Pauline is a board member of the American-Canadian Genealogical Society and an integral part of the success of several NERGC conferences.  She presented “French-Canadian Research: Bridging the Gap” to WMGS members at the Agawam Senior Center.

August 2015

For our August Meeting, WMGS members enjoyed a field trip to the Lyman and Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History and Archives.  This was an exclusive evening meeting, since the archives were only open for WMGS Members.  We met on the lower level with Maggie Humberston, Head of Library & Archives and Cliff McCarthy, Archivist. They took the extra time to help us understand the valuable resources that are literally in our own backyard. Nearly all of the resources are not available online and can only be accessed at the Archives.
